This is probably my favorite Camaro out of the few Camaros done for the Drag Strip Demons series. Paint is pearl green. Sits on Mags wrapped in Good Year real rider tires. Body lifts up to reveal cock-pit and motor.

When M2 came out with the '69 Camaro, I had to pick a few up. Good detail, great paint and tampo jobs. Hood and doors open to reveal detail as well.
As you will see, sometimes the doors do not line up with the lines of the body. You could tweak them if you like. I just put them in the showcases on the wall and enjoy them as is.

This blog, a side blog and other castings I collect

Before I committed to starting this blog I thought about what I would want to show and tell about. I went back and forth over strickly blogging about diecast models of Camaros and Firebirds or a combination of different castings I collect. 

In the end I decided this specific blog will be about diecast Camaros and Firebirds. I have a few thousand pieces to show and tell about with just the Camaro and Firebird. A little over 700 Johnny Lightning loose Camaros alone. So it should be fun moving forwards with this blog. 

Anyway, been thinking about the other few castings I collect on the side. So I've decided to make a side blog. Not sure of a name yet. But will tell you what you will see in it:

Also, I collect variations, errors, preproduction pieces, prototypes, transitional pieces ect.. I am not so much of a cardboard collector. I like to hold these cars in my hand. Check out the detail. Roll them across the table. So most of my collection is loose. I could guess that I have a few hundred carded pieces but never sat down and counted. 

It doesn't matter if you collect loose or carded you are keeping this hobby alive!!!

Johnny Lightning '69 Camaro RS/SS from the TRU exclusive Musclecars box set

This is the '69 Camaro RS/SS out of the Toys r Us exclusive Musclecars box set.



The Johnny Lightning Musclecars set could be found on shelves back in 2007 at your local Toys r Us. Set consisted of ten castings:
.1965 Chevy Impala SS
.1965 Pontiac Catalina 2+2
.1968 Oldsmobile 442
.1969 AMC AMX
.1969 Chevy Camaro RS/SS
.1969 Dodge Dart GTS
.1970 Plymouth AAR Cuda
.1971 Dodge Demon
.1987 Buick Regal
.2005 Ford Mustang GT

Johnny Lightning also inserted a WHITE LIGHTNING every once in a while of one of these castings into a box set. Production of each WHITE LIGHTNING for the above mentioned castings for this box set is said to be 50 of each. I have personally put together 4 complete White Lightning Musclecars box sets. It takes time (its been six years since these were on shelves) and patience. But it can be done.

I've had to buy so many box sets just to get one White Lightning of each casting I was able to build a box set of this sweet '69 Camaro RS/SS!!!...



I would like to keep this blog pretty much about F-Bodys but I might take a Musclecars White Lightning box set apart and photograph it... Time will tell....
